US App Store reference prices: USD 3.99 per month or USD 29.99 per year, checked October 6, 2026.

Basic is an auto-renewing subscription. Prices may differ on Google Play, by country, or for existing subscribers. The purchase screen shows the price and terms that apply to you.

Eligible US App Store customers may see a one-week introductory trial for Basic yearly. Review the store's renewal and cancellation terms before starting: it is a store subscription trial, and may renew into a paid subscription.

Invited members do not need their own Basic subscription. The shared ledger needs an owner with active Basic. Paying as an owner does not give every member unrestricted Basic access to their separate ledgers.

Free and Basic are the current plans. The older Plus AI tier has been retired; existing valid Plus entitlements provide Basic access.

Read subscription and cancellation details or check account and membership help.

Where the data goes

Personal records are stored on your device. Sharing and multi-device synchronization use cloud services; shared records and attachments become accessible to members with the relevant permissions.

Receipt recognition uses a cloud service. When you choose this feature, the image goes to the dedicated recognition endpoint. It returns a draft for you to review and save, and cannot write an expense directly into your ledger.

Account, purchase, diagnostic and usage information is also processed by the services described in the Privacy Policy. CoolMeow should not be described as an entirely offline or entirely on-device app.

The 46-second recording follows an invitation, a receipt draft, an entry synchronized between iPhone and Android, and a suggested split. It uses sample data, with waiting time edited out.

In the USD 412 trip example, Alex paid USD 310 and Sam paid USD 102. Their equal share is USD 206 each, so Sam owes Alex USD 104. The article shows the charts, underlying records and settlement screen.

Download the six sample expenses as CSV to check the arithmetic or enter them manually.

The example settlement in CoolMeow shows Sam owing Alex, labelled Me on this iPhone, USD 104.

When CoolMeow fits your group

It suits groups that want expenses, photos and notes together, with a record everyone can review. It can also help explain a chart total by opening the expenses behind it.

Check another approach if you need bank-linked budgeting, automatic money transfers, or an app for an iPhone running a version below iOS 26. A free personal ledger does not include ongoing shared-ledger access.

Receipt drafts can contain mistakes. Check the amount, currency, payer and selected participants before relying on a chart or settlement.

Choose a shared expense app for your group or follow a practical guide.
